I am a licensed psychologist focused on providing individual psychotherapy. The focus of my clinical work is with the emerging adult and adult populations (17+). Years of training include working with individuals spanning a broad range of presenting concerns. People often ask, “What is your specialty?” I consider myself a “generalist.” I am experienced working with a range of mental health concerns, from anxiety and depression to childhood trauma, sexual assault, sport/athletics, and interpersonal conflict. You can see a full description of how I work and the clinical concerns I treat here. I’m always open to discussing your interest in counseling and exploring if working with me seems like a good fit. While I am skilled at working with individuals across the lifespan, I have trained primarily in college and university counseling centers, making the “traditional college age” an area of particular expertise. College is an environment that exposes the vast depths of our mental health struggles - struggles that ultimately build resilience and that help shape our character as older adults.
I am a graduate of Drexel University with a degree in Education & Psychology, earned a Master’s Degree from New York University in Mental Health Counseling, and completed a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Seton Hall University. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at the New Jersey Veterans Affairs Hospital, working primarily within outpatient post-traumatic stress disorder and residential substance abuse units. Strong supervision and training in a variety of settings has taught me a range of effective therapeutic techniques and strategies that I integrate into my work with individuals looking to experience a more fulfilling life.
In addition to private practice, I am a consultant with the Institute for Forensic Psychology, serving as psychological examiner conducting public safety pre-employment screenings, fitness for duty evaluations, and wellness sessions. I also teach at the graduate level as an adjunct instructor, covering courses in Abnormal Psychology, Counseling Skills, Clinical Supervision, and Personality Theory. Formerly, I served as Assistant Director for Outreach and Staff Psychologist at Seton Hall University’s Counseling and Psychological Services (2012-2019). And finally, I enjoy presenting to groups on mental health topics, such as mental health stigma, suicide prevention, self-care, anxiety/stress reduction, interpersonal communication, and multiculturalism.
